World Wine Challenge: Second Edition

Think you know everything about wine? You may reconsider after several rounds of the Wine Appreciation Guild’s World Wine Challenge. This PC- and Mac-friendly game lives up to its name with its extremely challenging questions.

World Wine Challenge has three levels of difficulty with more than 500 questions total. Each game is unique because the questions are asked randomly. When you begin your challenge, an animated globe spins until the program chooses one of the world’s great wine regions for a question. After you answer the question, you can select the “Learn More” button, which briefly explains the right answer.

Developed by Barry Wiss, a renowned Certified Wine Educator, the Challenge is reminiscent of a trivia game in a college lecture hall. The questions are sometimes remarkably arcane for the casual wine drinker, making World Wine Challenge a great educational game for someone with a strong love of wines.
