Tasting
Notes: With
a five percent addition of Viognier, this richly dark Syrah offers a
prettily perfumed nose. Its flavors of currants and vanilla are pleasing
and its backbone of tannin is strong, however, this wine lacks the "oomph"
which can make Syrah such a powerful style. (Date tasted 08/26/00)
Profile:
In 1995, Berle "Rusty" Figgins stirred up the wine world by offering
world class Syrah and Grenache from Washington State fruit. Today the
winery focuses purely on Syrah and continues to build a reputation for
Washington made Rhône wines from its tiny, Walla Walla Valley production
facility.
