Tasting
Notes: A marriage of chemistry and agriculture,
this is a wine that celebrates everything winemaking has to offer. Although
it probably won't reach its full potential for another five years, we
have no problem singing its praises even in this infant stage. If you
must open a bottle now, look for the earthy, herbal components of Burgundian,
terroir-driven wines, brace yourself for an almost chewy, full body
and languish in its endless finish. But most importantly, if you open
the bottle in the evening, plan on drinking it with your breakfast,
this is a wine that deserves hours in the open air to truly blossom.

Profile:
It was with a passion for Burgundy and a degree from U.C. Davis that
Joe Davis founded Arcadian in 1996. With a production that has risen
to approximately 5,500 cases annually, Arcadian is lauded for producing
wines in a Burgundian tradition while maintaining distinct, regional
character. As a matter of fact, it is not only American critics who
applaud the winery's efforts; when French super-chef Alain Ducasse
opened Bath in Monaco, it was an Arcadian Chardonnay that was served.
With the addition of a Pinot Noir from the highly-prized Pisoni property
starting with the 1998 vintage, Arcadian has secured itself a spot
among California's finest Pinot producers.
