Tasting
Notes: An excellent value, this is one of
the finest American Pinot Grigios we've tasted. Citrus and ripe, tropical
fruits intermingle on both the nose and the palate. With its slight
effervescence and good acid, this wine makes for a bright, fruity, food
friendly style. A little too lean despite some malolactic fermentation,
it finishes with a flourish of lemon, banana and even aniseed flavors.

Profile:
Babcock Vineyards came into being in the early '80s when enterprising
Walt and Mona Babcock purchased vineyard holdings in the western
Santa Ynez Valley. A fledging region, the Babcocks' grapes were sought
out by several notable winemakers. When the Babcocks decided to take
the plunge into the world of winemaking, it was under the supervision
of their son, Bryan, a graduate of U.C. Davis, that the winery began
making its mark on the Central Coast map. In nearly twenty years
of winemaking, Bryan Babcock has received countless awards as an
innovator and consummate winemaker. Over the years, Babcock has experimented
with nearly twenty different varietals, including his latest passion,
Pinot Grigio.
