Tasting
Notes: Dark, dark, dark. Dark seems to be the consensus
for this Edna Valley offering. The winemaking team wanted
concentration and concentration they got. Rich red fruit flavors
of blackberry introduce you to a medium to full bodied juice.
A slightly tannic and deep berry mouthfeel leads to a long
finish that reveals some vanillin characteristics. (Date tasted

Profile: With a passion for terroir and, of course, wine, winemaker Christian Roguenant has teamed up with Maison Marques & Domaines to produce vino in the Central Coast. Translating the elegance from his Burgundian upbringing and education to California, Roguenant played an instrumental role in choosing the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir rootstock and clones to be grown in Firepeak Vineyards, the source of fruit for the Carpe Diem label. Carpe Diem’s Cabernet Sauvignon, blended by winemaker Christian Moueix, is a mix of fruit from the best vineyards in Napa Valley.
