Tasting Notes: Dark berries, mild nose and a medium-to-full body characterize this handcrafted beverage. Some Cabernet Franc and a tiny bit of Cabernet Sauvignon round out the wine, making it slightly more pleasant. There is terroir and it will show for several years. We think the wine will do better with age. (Date tasted 04/08/02)

Profile: Established in 1979, Casa Nuestra (translation: our house) produces about 2,000 cases of wine annually, including Meritage, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, dry Chenin Blanc, off-dry Riesling and Tinto. All varietals are grown in a 22-acre St. Helena Vineyard, with the exception of Tinto, which is grown in the Oakville region. The winegrowers focus on maximizing fruit intensity while sacrificing only larger yields, and using sustainable farming practices.
