Tasting
Notes: Straw gold in color, this is a wine with elegance
from appearance to finish. A great nose hints of the good
things to come. A mineral quality carries through its subtle
flavors. Perfect oak treatment lets the grapes express themselves
with peach, pineapple and vanilla flavors. This Chard lingers
on the palate with buttery softness. As well, it will hold
against food, maybe even a pork chop. (Date tasted: 11/07/03)

Tasting
Notes: A dark ruby color that fades towards the edge of
the glass sets the pace for this blackberry smelling wine;
add wood and a hint of tobacco. A medium body then translates
into a thinner than expected and fruit-lacking beverage. A
short woody finish leaves you a bit unaccomplished. (Date

Profile: As a former Disney exec and President of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Rich Frank was already a successful figure in California. But in 1992, the wine lover took advantage of an undeniable offer, purchasing a half-stake in the Kornell Champagne Cellars with winemaker and tutor Koerner Rombauer. In 2007, Frank acquired the entire vineyard, and now produces a variety of delectable still and sparkling wines with winemaker Todd Graff.
