Tasting
Notes: Ah, you can almost always
count on the French to know what to do with the Sauvignon
Blanc grape. Zesty on the nose with only a hint of grass,
this delicate, well-balanced wine cries for oysters. Although
its round mouthfeel takes away from that racy quality so
appealing in the varietal, this wine brings together all
the elements of quality winemaking. (Date tasted 01/28/01)
Profile:
One of the upper Loire's oldest wineries, family-run
Michel Redde is recognized for its high quality, early
drinking wines. Set on 85 acres in the heart of the
Pouilly appellation, the winery's distinctive "La
Moynerie" is world-famous as one of the region's finest
examples of winemaking. |
