Tasting
Notes: This soft-spoken Pinot is at peak
maturity. With little to no tannin to interfere with the wine's red
fruit flavors, it is one of the easiest-drinking reds we've recently
sampled. Forget storing it, buy and savor it now.

Profile: Purchasing York Mountain Winery in 1970 from its founders,
Max Goldman and his son Steve have earned a place among the most important
vintners in the Paso Robles area. As members of such organizations as
the Central Coast Wine Grape Growers Association, the Wine Institute's
board and Paso Robles Vintners and Growers Association, the family has
been instrumental in promoting the quality and image of Central Coast
wines.
York
Mountain Winery was sold in August 2001 to David and Mary Weyrich, who
also own Martin & Weyrich Winery in Paso Robles. The Weyrichs intend
to restore York Mountain’s tasting room, create a Central Coast winemaking
museum, turn the two-story farmhouse into a bed-and-breakfast inn and
plant up to 40 acres of Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
